"Tel Aviv-Yafo is One of the Top 10 Beach Cities in the World" (National Geographic)
Atarim, soon-to-be 50 years old, is entrusted with managing and developing the Tel Aviv-Yafo coastline.
The 14-kilometer coastline, which extends from Herzliya in the north to Bat Yam in the south, enhances the quality of life of the city's residents, tourists
and business establishments. Atarim currently manages the Levant Fairgrounds, Tel Aviv Port, Tel Aviv Marina, Old Jaffa, Jaffa Port and many other properties located along the city's coastline.
The history of the coastline starts with Jaffa Port and Old Jaffa, followed by the founding of the first Hebrew city, the opening of the Levant Fair, and the
construction of the Tel Aviv Port. The cultural and recreational offerings in the coastline area also grew in number, including hotels, restaurants and cafes. Other chapters in the development of the coastline featured the restoration of Old Jaffa,
the construction of the Tel Aviv Marina, the renovation of the legendary Gordon swimming pool, and the renewal of the Levant Fair complex. The coastline continued to expand and develop alongside its eventful history, and has been upgraded into an
active public space that is a key component in the lives of the city's residents and visitors.
Through Atarim, the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality and the Mayor have allocated substantial funds for strategic projects designed to enhance the visitor experience,
including the paving of dozens of bike paths and a flagship project - the makeover of the Lahat Promenade and its transformation into an uninterrupted and accessible boardwalk.
Just like the city of Tel Aviv-Yafo, which fosters the values of pluralism, entrepreneurship, innovation and, most of all, 'nonstop activity' - Atarim
has also embraced those same values and is promoting a vision that seeks to develop the coastline space as a public resource - an accessible and affordable blue haven, managed as a single unit that is active all year long. The coastline offers a concentration of activity hubs for residents, communities and tourists, which position Tel Aviv-Yafo as a leading beach city.
Atarim will continue developing the coastline from Jaffa to Bat Yam.
